Two fatal shootings have occurred in Arlington over the past two weeks and have caused the homicide number for 2011 to raise to 14 in the city.
Both incidents were said to be domestic violence situations. The first victim was a 20-year-old man that was shot at his apartment. His 19-year-old girlfriend was arrested and her bail is set at $100,000. It is suspected that she will face murder charges.
The second incident occurred as a 57-year-old woman was walking out of her apartment and she was shot while trying to meet her daughter’s ex-boyfriend. He fled after the incident, but was later found by police. He was arrested on suspicion of murder.
